Gaming is an industry that generates 12 figures a year. Yes, 12 figures! It generated over $100 Billion per year over the past 3 years (2018–2020) [ref 1], and that number keeps increasing as the major tech players such as Facebook, Google, Apple…are all making plans to enter this market [ref 2].

I, for one, firmly believe that blockchain based-games will increase their share of this market by a huge proportion. As of the 1st of November 2021, the blockchain gaming market cap (MC) is already slightly above $20 Billion and the Play To Earn (P2E) market cap is above $14 Billion. In the top 10 of the P2E games by market cap, six games have a MC above $100 Million and two above $1 Billion: Axie Infinity and Decentraland.

Today I’d like to share with you my research on a project I will probably spend too much time playing: Dreams Quest.

Dreams Quest — simply the most anticipated P2E Role Playing Game

First let me give you a warning, I’m heavily biased when it comes to Role-Playing Games (RPG), so if you don’t like these, this isn’t the article for you!

To tell you where I’m coming from, I used to play Dungeons and Dragons and Middle-Earth Role Playing when the book versions first came out and I still remember the countless hours I spent playing Baldur’s Gate on my PC in the nineties. You needed to wait several minutes for your CD-ROMs to load back in those days. Books, CD-ROMs… OK, I’m ooooold, I’ll admit it, but [ancient level 33 wizard voice] “with age comes experience my dear friends…”

I can tell you that I haven’t been so excited by an online RPG in ages. I don’t know where to start: the art is stunning, the gameplay is top notch and several features make Dreams Quest unique. It will not only be a game but a P2E game with its own Metaverse.

Explore the realms

Dreams Quest season 1 will allow players to choose between two realms — Celestial or Infernal — and several races for their characters. They will then be able to either explore the realms or enter battles, alone or in factions with other players from the same guild.

Exploring the realms

Players can explore the seven lands of the DreamVerse Metaverse, where they will find many opportunities to:

[…] participate in quests, events, and tournaments. As players explore, they will have opportunities to find new items and even some coins. There will be a number of quests to allow the players to solve various puzzles and mysteries. [Ref]

Card Play Battles

Players can also engage in Player versus Player battles. In these, selecting the right card deck will be paramount and the best players will be featured on top of the leaderboard and be able to win trophies.

Season 1, “The First Battle”, is expected for the second half of 2022. Of course, you already guessed that after season 1, there will be a season 2… We already know its name: “Rise of the Gnomes”. Dreams Quest is here to stay!

Play to Earn DREAMS

DREAMS tokens will be the game currency and players will be able to earn and spend DREAMS in so many ways — this is what really makes the game a Metaverse: the DreamVerse.

  • RPG Exploration Earnings. Players can participate in events and quests to find new items and tokens.
  • Battle Earnings. Players earn tokens when they win a battle and the more challenging the match, the more they earn.
  • Marketplace. The in-game marketplaces allow players to buy and sell, or auction, any characters and items found or forged during the quests. Players can even set up their own shop as blacksmiths, shopkeepers or alchemists and earn through their trade with the other players.
  • NFT Rentals. Players can rent out their NFT cards to fellow players for a period of time.
  • Tournaments. There will be an entry fee for winner-takes-all tournaments where the entry fees paid will be won by the top three players.

These features are common to all P2E games, but Dreams Quest also introduces their unique Guardian NFTs.

Guardian NFTs

These NFTs are non-playing characters that are in fact Governance NFTs with which players can:

  • Increase attributes and powers.
  • Increase the amount of tokens they may find or gain from quests or battles.
  • Create Quests.
  • Create faction conflicts.
  • Vote on conflict resolutions.
  • Get discounts on card packs.
  • Rent and delegate their vote to other players.

But that’s not all, Guardian NFTs can be bonded to a guild of players. In this case, they will be able to enhance both the cards of their owner as well as those of the members of their guild.

$DREAMS token, IDO and Listing

Listing

$DREAMS will be listed on the 2nd of November 2021 on KuCoin Exchange.

  • IDO Price: $0.009
  • Total Supply: 4,000,000,000 DREAMS
  • Initial Market Cap: $540,000
